The MetaTyping™ Nutrition BlogImprove Your Health, Control Your Weight, and Extend Your Life with REAL Metabolic Typing! The 24 "Real" Metabolic Types - Which One Are You?From: The MetaTyping Nutrition Blog Greetings,
If you've been reading my blog and my email messages, you now know that "protein type", "carb type", and "mixed type" are NOT real metabolic types. They are the "dumbed-down" version of metabolic typing you find in books and magazines, and all over the web. I'm assuming you are reading my blog because you don't want this watered-down, dumbed-down version. You want to know your real metabolic type, because you are serious about improving your health, controlling your weight, and feeling great! So what is your "real" metabolic type? And how will knowing your metabolic type help you to reach your goals for health and weight control? If you have received your metabolic test results already, please take a moment to look at them. Your results are on our private website, and you'll find the link to them in the email I sent you entitled "Nutrition Profile and Implementation Plan". (If you haven't received your nutrition profile yet, please click here.) At the top of your profile results, you'll see a section that looks like this:
So what does all this mean? And how does it tell you your "real" metabolic type? Understanding your real metabolic type starts with understanding your body. And specifically, there are three systems you need to understand:
Each of these systems has a "setting" unique to your genetics. These "settings" determines how your system behaves, and how you process the food you eat. Certain settings cause the exact same food to make one person skinny, another person fat, and for yet another person, to have no effect at all. For example, a low-fat diet might make your friend lose weight because she has the right oxidative, autonomic, and endocrine settings for it. But that low-fat diet might make you gain weight, because your settings aren't right for it. Yes low-fat diets can cause weight gain if you don't have the right settings for it! So it's not the food, it's the settings! To understand what these settings mean, I strongly recommend that you read the Eat With Your Body report. This report is included with your custom nutrition profile, but you can also get it separately by clicking here. This report goes into great detail - in plain English - what these settings are and what they mean for your metabolic health. If you look at your profile, you'll see that in addition to your OS, ANS, and Endocrine settings, you'll also see a Dominance setting. Dominance looks at the inter-relationship between the Autonomic Nervous System and the Oxidative System. This dominance indicates which of these two main systems is the one most "in control" in your body when it comes to nutrition. Generally, one of these two systems will be dominant, and a particular "setting" within the dominant system will be in control. So your "real" metabolic type will consist of (1) your dominant system, plus (2) your endocrine type. In the example profile above, the client learned that he was a Parasympathetic Dominant, with a Thyroid endocrine type. So we can say that his "real" metabolic type is Parasympathetic/Thyroid. Right now, take a look at your profile. Find your dominance, and find your endocrine setting. Put them together, and that's your "real" metabolic type. (Again, if you haven't received your nutrition profile yet, please click here.) Because of the possible settings for your dominance and endocrine system, your "real" metabolic type will be one of the following 24 possibilities:
These 24 "real" types may seem like a lot of types, especially if you are used to the dumbed-down, watered-down version of metabolic typing that has only 3 types. But knowing which of the 24 types you are means we can be much more accurate than the dumbed-down, 3-type version. We can determine, with a high degree of accuracy, what foods and nutrients you need to establish metabolic balance. These foods will help you control your weight and improve your health. You won't have to waste your time on a "carb" diet or a "protein" diet that still might have foods that aren't right for your metabolic type! So if your health and weight are important to you, make sure you know your "real" metabolic type. From that type, we can help you design a nutrition and food chart that will work with your body, not against it! Wishing you the best in health and longevity,
