Stress-Free Travel - Ideas That Work!

Greetings -

We all look forward to going on vacation and taking that trip we've always wanted to take. But it seems to come with a price - stress before leaving and exhaustion after returning. How can we make this event more fun and less stressful?

No matter who you are, minimizing stress is easier said than done especially in today's busy world. However, there are things we can do to help us before taking off on our trip.

Step 1: A few weeks before your trip, write down all the things that are in your head that you know need to be accomplished before you leave. Prioritize that list and plan enough time to complete all of the tasks within the time alotted. Remember to include eating nutritionally and exercising.

Step 2: The week before you are to leave, if stress begins to creeps in, despite your best efforts, remember to breathe. Take a couple of minutes to focus on your breath and breathe from the belly. This will help in calming you so you are better able to concentrate.

Step 3: If possible, take the day off before you are to leave. If that's not possible, to quiet your mind and minimize stress, playing soft, relaxing music and/or taking a relaxing bath can do wonders. In addition, take time to meditate for 5 or 10 minutes before bedtime and get extra sleep.

Step 4: Take the day off after returning from your trip. Travel can be exhausting and taking the day off gives you time to recover and prepare for the next day.

Make your trip the best ever by minimizing stress before and after your trip. Have great fun and a stress-free vacation.
