The MetaTyping™ Nutrition BlogImprove Your Health, Control Your Weight, and Extend Your Life with REAL Metabolic Typing!Your Brain on Stress! From: The MetaTyping Nutrition Blog
Greetings - One of our neurotransmitters, epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) is the primary neurotransmitter associated with stress. Epinephrine is released as part of our "fight or flight" response to conflict, and stress occurs when we can’t do either! If you are stressed, the overproduction of epinephrine/ adrenaline can cause toxic effects on the body, leading to heart problems, high blood pressure, anxiety, and even depression. Since epinephrine is part of our "fight or flight" response, it makes sense then that the best way to relieve stress is to move! Exercise may be the last thing you want to do when you are stressed, but it works! Just get up and go for a walk; do some tai chi, qigong or yoga; or just dance around and shout. Almost any type of exercise or movement will help you "work off" the epinephrine. So if you are feeling stressed, don’t sit and worry – get up and move! Wishing you the best in health and longevity,
